Descrizione

A favourite among some of the best guitarists in the world for years already, the MXR MC401 Boost/Line Driver strengthens your signal by up to 20dBs without adding any colour. The flawless circuit design of this pedal takes an effect-chain-weakened signal and fully restores it, in all its solid and sparkling glory. Set it up as a lead boost; strengthen the presence of fingerpicking techniques; or gift your other stompboxes with a more dynamic and responsive output.

Controlling the MC401

The controls of the MC401 Boost/Line Driver have been kept as clean and simple as possible. Simply set the output level using the Boost pot, then activate the boost using the footswitch, and since this is a hardwire-bypass pedal, you're absolutely assured of a pure and untouched signal when the pedal is inactive. The MC401 can be powered using a 9V battery or external 9V power supply, but if you hook it up to an 18V power supply, you're treated to even more headroom and increased clarity.

Uitstekende pedaal. Ideaal om het volume op te drijven met behoud van de klank. Of het nu clean of overstuurde is, de sound blijft hetzelfde. Pracht aankoop. zijn prijs meer dan waard.

Spartaans. Eenvoudig. Makkelijk te gebruiken. Geen ruis, geen bij-effecten, enkel pure goede clean boost. Enige puntje zou kunnen zijn dat het pedaal wel erg veel boost kan geven, ik kom nooit boven de helft uit. Als de boost iets minder extreem zou kunnen waardoor deze nog iets preciezer afgesteld kon worden was het het perfecte pedaal geweest. Een kniesoor die daar op let natuurlijk, het pedaal is een enorme toevoeging op m'n pedalboard.

Dit is zo een heerlijk eenvoudig pedaal. Doet precies wat hij zou moeten: boosten. Zonder bij effecten, pure clean boost.

Super.
Het geluid wordt een stuk beter na de toevoeging van dit pedaaltje, zelfs als de boost laag. Het klinkt hierdoor een stuk voller, helder en intenser. Verder geen effect op het geluid wat er al is.
Wel een beetje ruis als je em combineert met distortion/overdrive, zelf zit ik daar niet mee want daar zijn noise gates voor (mijne: boss NS-2).
Ik kocht hem voor meer volume bij mijn solo's maar ik zou er bijna nog wel een willen die altijd aan staat.

Ik Heb een Orange AD30 en het 1e kanaal kinkt fantastisch. Nadeel is dat de overdrive voor mij een boost kan gebruiken. Geen probleem! Daar zijn boost pedalen voor! ?
Hieronder 3 pedalen die ik puur voor dit doel gebruikt / getest heb met 9v adapter.

+ Zeer goed geluid. Het laag-mid wordt iets voller. Hoog wat afgevlakt (vooral bij een telecaster merkbaar) en het geluid wordt iets compressed.
+ Kan zeer hoge output genereren (is toch overkill).
+ Bouwkwaliteit subliem. Switch geeft het gevoel nooit stuk te kunnen gaan.
+ Geen ruis / sis te horen.
- Niet transparant.

+ Is transparant. Blijft zeer trouw aan het geluid van de gitaar en versterker.
+ Sprankelend geluid.
+ Bouwkwaliteit is prima, is niet te licht.
- Er is een sis / ruis te horen op een amp met overdrive. Op de soul food iets storender.

+ Is transparant wanneer gebruikt als booster, prima geluid kwaliteit.
- Er is een sis / ruis te horen op een amp met overdrive.
- Ruis wordt heviger als de treble wordt opengezet.

De Way huge bezit ik al. De overige 2 heb ik getest. Wat ik wil is het geluid van de mc-401 maar dan zonder de sis, vooral voor mijn Telecaster.
